Ορφέας / ευρυδικη (2025)
Orpheus / Eurydice is a meditation on memory, performed by two bodies, choreographed to the sound of two voices. The performance is structured around two different realities: the mythological realm of Orpheus and Eurydice, and a ritualistic space where two fictional characters revisit their memory in search of salvation. The question of why Orpheus turned around, knowing he would lose Eurydice, drives a process of physical investigation. Embodying the mythical characters, fiction soon starts to blend with personal experiences of loss. One might adapt the famous allegory by Jean-Paul Sartre and put it in the words: L’enfer, c’est la mémoire.
As part of the European Theater Convention 2025, an initial work-in-progress version of the performance was presented at the National Theater of Greece. The production is open to collaborations for further development.
